David Tennant Treat 4 Today for Thursday 3rd January 2013

First thing this morning we posted a tweet saying that it is 4 years ago tonight that David Tennant returned to the stage to play Hamlet for The Royal Shakespeare Company after his back operation.

David had been off-stage for nearly a month and yet managed to return for the final 7 performances although the usual recovery time for that operation was 6 - 8 weeks.

Our tweet has been retweeted loads of times today (including by The RSC!) but somebody called Listy asked us why he has had to have an operation. In our reply we said that we had a MP3 of an interview when David explained what happened and thankfully we have managed to find it.

Click here to listen to the interview. (This is the third MP3 of four for the whole interview.) The part where David speaks about his back starts at 4 minutes.

The photos below are of the piece which was taken from David's back!
